« De juin à septembre 2022, les artistes Émili Dufour (Saint-Gédéon) et Diane Laurier (Saguenay) effectuaient, à l’initiative de Langage Plus, une résidence axée sur des séjours immersifs en contexte maraîcher. Respectivement jumelées à ces artistes de leur communauté environnante, deux entreprises maraîchères ont accepté de les accueillir en tant que partie prenante de leur écosystème : le Jardin des Défricheurs à Ferland-et-Boilleau et merci la terre à Métabetchouan.

D’emblée, ces milieux se sont avérés des contextes de création hors du commun offrant l’occasion aux artistes d’établir un lien étroit avec des acteurs importants de leur communauté et leur territoire, de manière à « composer avec la complexité du réel », ce qui est dans l’esprit de la permaculture. »

Ateliers maraîchers a vu le jour grâce au soutien financier du Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, de la MRC de Lac-Saint-Jean-Est et de la Ville d’Alma, dans le cadre du Programme de partenariat territorial du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean 2021-2022. Langage Plus souligne la contribution exceptionnelle du Jardin des Défricheurs, de merci la terre et du Centre SAGAMIE au projet.

« From June to September 2022, the artists, Émili Dufour (Saint-Gédéon) and Diane Laurier (Saguenay), following the initiative by Langage Plus, carried out a residency focused on immersive stays in a market gardening context. Two market gardening companies teamed up with these artists from their surrounding community and have agreed to welcome them as part of their ecosystem: the Jardin des Défricheurs in Ferland-et-Boilleau and merci la terre in Métabetchouan.

From the very beginning, these environments proved to be exceptional creative contexts, offering artists the opportunity to establish close ties with important players in their community and territory, so as to ‘‘come to terms with the complexity of reality,’’ which is in essence, the true spirit of permaculture. »
