Dans le projet L’intimité spectacle, Sarah Thibault réfléchit à la mise en scène de l’espace domestique en se penchant plus spécifiquement sur l’intérieur bourgeois. Le décor intérieur étant interprété par l’artiste comme un médium de transmission de valeurs, l’installation suggère une vision hyperbolique de l’inscription d’idéaux bourgeois dans celui-ci.

Abordant également l’omniprésence de représentations de la nature dans les arts décoratifs, L’intimité spectacle explore la fluidité des espaces intérieurs et extérieurs, en présentant le paysage comme récupéré simultanément, dans une mise en scène englobante de l’habitat et la scénographie de l’espace intérieur.

Plus généralement, par l’amalgame d’éléments appartenant à divers environnements, l’exposition vise à créer une expérience mettant de l’avant la complexité de différents symboles et la mouvance de notre perception de ces derniers. En recontextualisant ces éléments dans un espace commun, de nouveaux repères émergent de cette symbolique.

In the project L’intimité spectacle (the spectacle intimacy), Sarah Thibault reflects on the staging of domestic space by looking more specifically into the bourgeois interior. The interior decor being interpreted by the artist as a medium of transmission of values, the installation suggests a hyperbolic vision of the integration of bourgeois ideals into it.

Also addressing the ubiquity of nature representations in the decorative arts, L’intimité spectacle explores the fluidity of interior and exterior spaces by presenting the landscape as simultaneously reclaimed, in an all-encompassing staging of the habitat and the scenography of the interior space.

More generally, through the amalgam of elements belonging to various environments, the exhibition aims to create an experience that highlights the complexity of different symbols and the shifting of our perception of them. By recontextualizing these elements in a common space, new reference points emerge from this symbolism.
