Veuillez noter qu’il n’y aura pas de vernissage. Cependant, l’artiste sera sur place pour rencontrer les visiteurs lors du lancement le vendredi 26 mars, de 15 h à 18 h. En respect des normes sanitaires en vigueur, les places seront limitées.

Issu d’une exposition de fin de maîtrise, Être précaire n’est pas la fin d’une recherche ; c’est un des nombreux paliers permettant d’ériger un cercle plus ou moins large autour de la représentation de la mort.

C’est un état qui concerne le vivant comme l’artificiel se trouvant dans un moment de fragilité. Le végétal, révélé par la dégradation, existe dans sa nouvelle forme. La fleur fanée est.

Être précaire, c’est être constamment sur un fil. État altérant la relation au temps et au lieu, il renvoie à la question de l’être, du devenir et à la transition. Malgré l’intégrité altérée, subsiste-t-il quelque chose au-delà du périssable ?

Les objets ici sont précaires et mouvants, ils forment des tableaux où végétaux se croisent et s’entrecroisent, emplissant l’espace et s’unissant à la lumière. Ils donnent à voir une vérité où beauté et poésie laissent comme un arrière-goût de douce morbidité.

Born of an exhibition to complete a Master’s degree, the work Être précaire [Precarious Being] is not the conclusion of a research project; it is one of the many stages in building a more or less sizeable periphery around the representation of death.

It is a state that affects all living things in a moment of fragility. Plants, seen in their corruption, still exist in their new shape. The faded flower is still a flower.

To be precarious is to be constantly on a tightrope. A state that distorts our relationship with time and place, it raises the questions of being, becoming and transition. Despite the alteration in cohesion, does something still persist beyond that which is perishable ?  

The objects here are precarious and moving, they form tableaux in which plants criss-cross and entwine, filling the space and coalescing in the light. They reveal a truth in which beauty and poetry leave an aftertaste of gentle morbidity.
