Ground Truth (Vérité terrain) est une méthode scientifique en géographie utilisée pour vérifier un territoire physiquement, versus la technologie de télédétection. Ce procédé privilégie l’expérience d’une chose réelle face à sa virtualité. Dans un amas contrôlé, des cartes géographiques, photographies, œuvres sculpturales et dessins explorent l’espace de l’art performatif, de la représentation cartographique et de l’archive. Ce corpus sonde le terrain entre notre compréhension des espaces construits, notre corps-contexte dans l’espace-temps et les systèmes neurologiques permettant notre déplacement.

Entre matérialité de l’archive et souvenir, l’artiste cherche à exploiter une réflexion autour de la permanence, de l’impermanence et du potentiel qui se situe entre ces états, pour créer à travers Ground Truth une mythologie émergente.

Ground Truth is a scientific method used in greography to confirm through direct observation on the ground, rather than by remotely obtained data. This process contrasts real experience with the intangible or virtual. In a controlled cluster, maps, photographs, sculptures and drawings explore the space of perfomative art, mapping and archives. This body of work explores the terrain between our understanding of built spaces, our body-context in space and time, and the neurological systems that enable our movements.

By exploring the material nature of the archive and memory, the artist seeks to reflect on permanence, impermanence, and the potential between these states in order to create an emerging mythology through Ground Truth.
